Pierre Cardin by Patrick Morgan

This image looks like it was traced and scanned in. The exact details and proportions of the face and body suggest that this was hand drawn and traced. I think the colours are watercolour and ink based and were probably added before being scanned in. I like the scruffy, almost rushed effect that this portrait shows through the dripping ink and the harsh brush lines on the tie. The shading on the face suggests light and shadow through tonal values and exagerates the facial features well. The colour has only been partially used and this seems to drew the eye around the image but brings you to the lighter, uncoloured areas.
